Communication and teamwork

It's very hard to know what to do when a child has cancer. By handling such a complicated situation we may feel that it outrs us and in these cases support, communication and teamwork is of paramount importance.

All human beings are afraid of the unknown. Uncertainty causes a lot of stress and even more so when it is a situation that threatens health and even life itself. Feeling sad, angry or afraid is normal. However, you should not allow these feelings to paralyze you, remember that the most important thing is to do everything in your power to get the situation afloat: seek medical attention and start treatment.

It's time to work as a team to help your child get his or her physical health, mood, social and school life affected as little as possible and recover.

To fight cancer, it's important to have open, effective communication and stay informed. Teamwork and the success of treatment will depend in large part on them being able to understand what is happening to them and what they should do, giving themselves the opportunity to ask and express doubts and feelings, respecting and listening to the different points of view.
